About project
Flicko is a social entertainment platform launching in Telegram Mini Apps and World App. It helps people discover movies and shows, share their taste, and connect through what they watch.
At the core of the experience is FlickPick — a Tinder-like swiping mechanic that lets users quickly rate, like, or skip titles. These swipes instantly shape the user’s profile, recommendations, and social identity inside the app.
Beyond discovery, Flicko builds a shared space where friends compare watchlists, see each other’s picks, exchange reactions, and explore content together — all inside the platforms they already use every day.

Introduce fast, swipe-based discovery to replace slow scrolling.

Build a social layer around taste: friends’ picks, overlaps, reactions.

Create a dedicated Taste Match window that visualizes how closely users’ preferences align.

Add episode tracking so users can easily mark what they’ve watched in any series.

Enable social reactions — likes, comments, quick emoji responses.

Target Audience

Max, 27
Product Manager
I watch a lot, but choosing takes forever. I want a quick way to decide without scrolling for 20 minutes.
I need something that understands my taste better than platforms do.

Anna, 24
Student
My friends and I constantly send each other film links. It always gets lost.
I want a place where our movie taste actually lives together.

Leo, 31
Engineer
I love discussing what I watch, but Instagram and TikTok aren’t made for that.
I want a simple space where I can react, share, and see what my friends enjoy.

Outcome
Flicko delivers a fast, compact social experience built natively for Telegram and World App, evolving directly inside the platforms where users already spend time. Its core feature — the swipe-based FlickPick mechanic — became the main driver of engagement, making film and show discovery fun, quick, and instantly addictive. Lightweight components, gesture-driven patterns, and clear social interactions (feeds, shared lists, reactions) create a cohesive, high-speed experience that feels natural within mini-app constraints.
I led the end-to-end design of the MVP, building a scalable architecture supporting 200,000+ content items and creating a compact Design System optimized for Telegram Mini App constraints, allowing the product to launch from concept to release in under 2 months. The fast-decision hypothesis was validated: the swipe-based UI generated 50× more engagement than traditional text reviews, proving the efficiency of lightweight interactions. Early retention was strong as well — users averaged 27+ interactions per session, confirming the clarity and stickiness of the core flows.
Hope you enjoyed my portfolio —
thank you for taking the time! ❤️
